Snooker league

In a snooker league every player meets every other player over a season, usually one match a week. A win earns points, frames won can earn points too, and the table at the end decides the champion. It suits clubs that play on the same night every week.

How it works

  1. 1Every player is drawn against every other player, once or twice
  2. 2Fixtures are dated week by week from the first night
  3. 3Each result adds to the table: points, then frame difference, then frames won

Points

The usual scoring is 2 points for a win. Some leagues give 1 point a frame instead, so a close loss still counts. Ties on points go to frame difference, then frames won, then the result between the two players.

When to use it

When the same group plays every week for months. With more than 12 players a single league runs long; split into divisions, or use a Swiss or Masters instead.
