How it is worked out

Every red left is worth 8, a red then the black. The colours add up to 27. If a player has just potted a red and is on a colour, add 7 for the black they could take.

When the lead is bigger than the points left, the trailing player needs snookers. Each one is counted at the penalty for the ball on: 4 through the reds, yellow, green and brown, then 5, 6 and 7 on the blue, pink and black.

If the lead is exactly the points left, the trailing player needs everything: level on the black means a re-spotted black.

The Snooker Hub board works all of this out as you score, and keeps every break.
